Kansas is kicking off National Surveyors'
Week 2008 with a tour/geocache event at Meade’s
Ranch March 15th. The owner has decided we are good
folk and is going to allow tours (for a fee) on March
15th.

ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Kansas State Board of Technical Professions
has forwarded the name of Jean Boline to the governor
as the new Executive Director effective March 10, 2008.
She replaces Betty L. Rose who is retiring on March
7, 2008 after serving 23 ½ years as Executive
Director.
Ms. Boline joined the Kansas Board staff
in August, 1999 as Exam Specialist. Since January, 2006
she has served as the agency Program Administrator.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Emporia
State University and has worked for various state agencies
since September 1992.
The Board and its many licensees will
greatly benefit from Jean’s wealth of experience
in the examination and licensure of the five technical
professions.

THE TOPICS ENCOUNTERED ON THE OKLAHOMA JURISDICTIONAL
EXAM AND NCEES FS & PS EXAMS. THE APPROACH OF THE
COURSE WILL BE TO COVER THE FUNDAMENTALS ANDPRINCIPALS
OF THE TOPICS PRESENTED, TO OFFER UNIQUE POINTS OF VIEW
AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THOSE TOPICS AND TO OFFER
INSTRUCTION ON TOPICS WHICH ARE TESTED BY NCEES BUT
THAT ARE NOT ENCOUNTERED REGULARLY IN SURVEYING PRACTICE.

Charges required by the Kansas State Historical
Society effective February 1, 2007 are as follows:
Fee for filing each reference report:
$4.00 for each corner to which reference is made
Fee for information requests: Reports
for one, two or three sections: $10.00
Reports from each additional section: $ 5.00
Requests for copies of any combination of field notes,
plats, and maps $15.00 for each section
Copying fee: $1.00 per page in addition
to the fees specified above.
Fax fee: $1.00 for each page faxed in addition to the
fees specified above.
Requests for any copy to be certified:
$2.00 for each copy
